I was in 7th grade when they played here. I lived a few towns away. We used to pass this venue on the way to my Aunt's house. It was always scorned upon as a rowdy, drug infested, shithole, biker bar establishment. All the older kids I knew called it 'Scumdance'. I had just discovered the Bad Brains around this time from a second hand Roir cassette tape comp a friend's cousin lent him called 'NY Thrash'. I think this is the Sundance show when Thrasher Magazine interviewed them. When I found that out reading the magazine, I was so amazed they had played so close near me in the suburbs. I remember HR saying in the interview that they weren't 'a hardcore band or a reggae band-they were a gospel band'.
